The Story So Far
Slow Fades started with a simple idea: selvedge denim deserves a place built just for it — not a category buried inside a general resale app, not an eBay search filter, not a Facebook group with no vetting and no structure. A real marketplace, made by people who actually care about the denim.
We're still early. Really early. Right now, that means a small but growing group of sellers, a handful of genuinely great pieces, and a lot of work happening behind the scenes to get this right.
Why we're building it this way:
Every listing on Slow Fades is manually reviewed before it goes live. That's slower than just letting anyone post anything — but it means when you're browsing, you're looking at real selvedge, described accurately, from sellers who know what they have. No mystery fabric, no "selvedge-style" listings, no guessing.
That's the trade-off we've chosen: smaller and real, over big and diluted.
Where we need help:
Here's the honest part.... A marketplace is only as good as what's on it, and right now, we need more of it. If you've got a piece sitting in your closet that you've moved on from — jeans, a jacket, a shirt, anything real — that's exactly what Slow Fades needs.
Listing is free. There are no listing fees, and no buyer fees. Commission is just 5% right now, enough to cover payment processing and a little toward running the site.
What's next:
We're focused on one thing for now: building real inventory with real sellers. Everything else — new features, more categories, expansion — comes after that. If you're a collector, a seller, or just someone who's been meaning to clear out a piece you don't wear anymore, this is where we'd love your help.
